Work Life Balance
Dow Lohnes understands that our success lies in our ability to provide exceptional legal services to our clients. It is only through the hard work and talent of the firm’s attorneys that we can achieve the excellence that our clients have come to expect from the firm. Therefore, it is important for Dow Lohnes to continue to attract and retain talented attorneys, and addressing issues of work/life balance is just one of the ways we seek to achieve that goal.
As part of its work/life balance initiative, Dow Lohnes provides our attorneys with a flexible work arrangement policy open to all lawyers. We currently have 13 attorneys working a part-time arrangement including partners and associates, both male and female. Firm Management appointed Stephanie Loughlin, a partner and mother of three working a reduced schedule, as the Chair of the Work/Life Balance Subcommittee which focuses on these important issues for the firm. She is also the firm's Alternative Work Arrangements Coordinator, a position created to guide others on decisions about part-time arrangements.
In addition, the firm sponsors many work/life balance functions including a Women Partner Networking series, regular Women Partner/Women Associate networking lunches, and a guest speaker series on work/life balance concerns for all lawyers, such as nutrition and child care. These are just a few of the ways in which the firm seeks to attain our goal of offering work/life balance to all of our attorneys.
