Mentoring
The Advisor/Mentor Program provides one-on-one guidance to associates and helps them develop professionally. Under the program, each associate and his or her advisor meet regularly to discuss the associate's professional development and a wide range of issues related to the associate's career development at the firm.
“Dow Lohnes knows that helping our associates to become the best lawyers they can be is critical to the continued success of the firm. Providing substantive and skills-based training is an essential part of that effort. Another key ingredient is giving our younger lawyers the skills to address career concerns and problems, whether its how best to deal with a partner whose assignment is unclear, secure a wider variety of projects, deal with conflicting assignment priorities or balance work and family obligations. That's the important role that our associate mentor and advisor program fills. I've served as a mentor for many years. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had at the firm, in no small part because I have learned and benefited far more from the experience than the associates I've counseled”.

“I have been extremely pleased with my experience in the firm's formal mentor program. During the regular meetings with my mentor, I've been able to raise a broad range of issues, both professional and personal. My mentor, in turn, has always taken the program very seriously, and has made a concerted effort to provide quality feedback.”
