Feedback

Providing feedback to our summer associates is an important element of our summer program. Summer associates receive constant guidance and feedback on their research and writing skills from the assigning attorneys, the individual attorney advisors and the program coordinators.

Each attorney assigning a project is required to complete an evaluation and to provide oral and written feedback directly to the summer associate, and the advisors and coordinators follow up to ensure that feedback is actually received. In addition, the attorney advisor for each summer associate takes the time to review, edit and discuss one substantial written project completed by the summer associate to provide an in-depth level of comment and insight. Each summer associate also has two evaluation meetings during the summer to provide formal feedback on work performance as a whole and to provide the opportunity for the summer associate to ask questions and to offer suggestions to the firm for improving the summer program.

"What sets Dow Lohnes apart is that working at the firm is like working with your friends - everyone is incredibly friendly, polite and willing to help."

Erin Birch,
2006 Summer Associate from University of Wisconsin Law School
