Diversity
Dow Lohnes is committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce and to supporting all of our employees in their professional development. We actively foster an environment that welcomes and offers great opportunities to talented individuals, regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, color, disability or age.
The Importance of Diversity
We believe that workforce diversity is essential to providing the highest level of service to our clients and our community. While we all share certain values, such as a commitment to excellence and client service, our varied backgrounds, perspectives and experiences are critical to servicing our clients effectively and enriching our work environment. We have the good fortune to represent a large number of clients who themselves embrace the goal of workplace diversity for their own workforce and ours, many of whom in turn find themselves serving an increasingly diverse community of customers. The firm's Diversity Committee leads our efforts to increase diversity, with an emphasis on the recruitment, retention and development of diverse attorneys. The Diversity Committee is composed of members of the Management Committee and a diverse group of partners and associates. The Committee also seeks the input and involvement of all lawyers in the firm and works closely with the Professional Development Committee and the Hiring Committee.
Supporting and Increasing a Diverse Community
We recognize that achieving diversity requires a long-term commitment of resources and focused attention from the firm's leadership and others throughout the firm. We are actively involved in both national and local diverse associations including MCCA (Minority Corporate Counsel Association), the Washington DC Minority Attorney Networking Series, and the Atlanta Legal Diversity Consortium among many others. We provide a forum for Dow Lohnes minority attorneys to meet once a month to discuss issues, and we offer many opportunities for all of our lawyers to be involved in promoting diversity in the workplace. The firm also sponsors a Diversity Reception and a Diversity and Mentoring Scholarship for law students. For more information, visit our Judicial Clerkship & Scholarship Programs page.
Dow Lohnes is committed to building on its diversity efforts and welcomes any suggestions or questions you might have. If you have any comments or questions related to diversity at the firm, we encourage you to contact Judy Busch, our Associate Programs and Special Projects Administrator.
